Enter the metaverse: the digital future Mark Zuckerberg is steering us toward.

The metaverse will be the successor to the mobile internet. The metaverse is where the physical and digital worlds come together. It is a space where digital representations of people – avatars – interact. Meeting in their office, going to concerts, and even trying on clothes are the possibilities.

Facebook already has a professional version of the metaverse underway: Horizon Workrooms, an app that lets Oculus-wearing workers enter the metaverse of virtual offices and hold meetings.

Artificial intelligence creates problems that should be addressed with regulation and new technologies. The head of Sinovation Ventures, Kai-Fu Lee says it in a Bloomberg interview

Kai-Fu Lee is also the co-author of the recently published AI 2041: Ten Visions for Our Future, a book of science fiction stories about AI set 20 years in the future.

Huawei wishlist: Global talent, 6G, set own standards:

In the past, Huawei had embraced standards because it lagged behind the rest of the world and did not have a large customer base. When it came to 6G and other new technologies, Huawei hoped to set the pace with its own standards.

«When we aim to ‘pierce the sky’ and take the lead in the world, we must not be restricted by standards and must dare to blaze our own trails, establish de facto standards, and attract others to connect with us.» This is one of the points the Huawei Founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei made in a recent internal meeting.
